FAQ

Who runs BizCardCalc? +
BizCardCalc is operated by Numerlyn LLC, an independent publisher of free educational calculators. We are not a bank, card issuer, or credit broker, and we have no relationship with any specific card program that influences the math this tool shows you.
Do you recommend specific cards? +
No. This tool estimates rewards math based on the numbers you provide; it doesn't recommend or rank specific card products. Card terms and rates change too often, and vary too much by applicant, for a generic recommendation to be reliable — we'd rather teach you how to run the math yourself on any card you're considering.
Is my spending data private? +
Yes. The calculator runs in your browser, and we have not built it to transmit or store what you enter. There is no account and no form that sends your inputs to us. As with any website, the hosting provider processes standard technical request data; see our privacy policy for details.
Is this the same as a card's approval odds or credit-limit estimate? +
No. Approval and credit-limit decisions depend on underwriting factors this calculator doesn't touch at all — your business's revenue, time in business, credit profile, and the issuer's own internal criteria. This tool only estimates the rewards value of a card assuming you're approved and use it as described; it says nothing about whether you'd be approved or at what limit.
Why doesn't the calculator ask for my card issuer or account information? +
Because it doesn't need to. The estimate is built entirely from the spending amounts and rates you type in, not from any real account data. Asking for issuer or account details would add privacy risk without making the underlying math any more accurate.
How often are the default rates or example numbers updated? +
The default figures pre-filled in the calculator are illustrative starting points, not a snapshot of any specific card's current offer, so they don't need to track real-time card terms. See the methodology page for how the formula itself is built and what it assumes.
Does BizCardCalc make money from any of the cards it discusses? +
Any current affiliate relationships and how they work are disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Compensation, where it exists, never changes the calculator's formula or the way results are displayed.
I found a card with a much higher advertised rate than the calculator's default — can I use it? +
Yes — the rate fields on the calculator are meant to be edited. Replace the default bonus and base rates with the card's actual advertised rates (and its actual annual fee) to get an estimate specific to that card, based on your own spending.
Who should use this calculator? +
Anyone comparing business credit cards who wants to see the math translated into real dollars instead of just comparing headline percentages. It's built for a business owner doing initial research, not as a replacement for reading a specific card's full terms before applying.
Can I use this calculator on my phone? +
Yes. The calculator is built as a plain, mobile-responsive web page with no app to download and no account to create — it works the same on a phone browser as it does on a desktop.
Does the calculator work without JavaScript? +
The rewards calculation itself runs in your browser using JavaScript, so a browser with JavaScript disabled won't be able to compute a result. All of the educational content on this site — the guides, FAQ, and methodology pages — is plain text and readable regardless.
What if my business has more than five spending categories to track? +
Group your actual spending into the closest matching bucket the calculator offers. For example, shipping costs could reasonably go under "office supplies/software" or "general/other" depending on which is closer to how a specific card categorizes it — consistency between how you group your own spend and how the card you're evaluating defines its categories matters more than which exact bucket you choose.
Is BizCardCalc affiliated with any bank or credit card network? +
No. BizCardCalc is an independent educational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any credit card issuer, network, or bank whose cards a user might compare using this tool.
Where can I read the full legal terms and disclaimers? +
See our Terms, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer pages, linked in the footer of every page on this site.
Can I compare more than two cards at once? +
The calculator itself only shows one result at a time, but you can run it repeatedly with the same spending inputs and different rates/fees, writing down each net result, to compare as many cards as you want. Keeping a simple side-by-side note of each card's net figure is the most reliable way to compare more than two at once.
Does this calculator apply to personal credit cards too? +
The underlying rewards math — bonus rate times bonus spend, plus base rate times base spend, minus annual fee — is the same for personal cards. This tool and its surrounding content are written specifically for business spending patterns and business-card considerations like employee cards and personal-guarantee questions, so a personal-card user may find some of the guidance here less relevant.
What should I do if two cards come out very close in net value? +
When the dollar difference is small, other factors often matter more than the rewards math: which redemption format you'll actually use, whether one card offers travel protections or purchase protections you value, whether one has better employee-card controls, and which issuer's customer service and app you prefer. Rewards value is one input into the decision, not the only one.
